ALS with Anna

Give me your thoughts.

I’ve been giving this question a lot of thought. Yes, I could look up the answer, and I probably will. I know I will talk to my doctors about it when I see them in April, at my next clinic. I want your opinion though… Do you believe ALS is on the rise? Also, I would love to know the reasoning on your answer so please leave me a comment.

I believe the rise of ALS could be environmental reasons. It’s also a genetic issue, even though a very small percentage of people actually carry the gene. And then, those who do carry the gene are not guaranteed to develop ALS. Another factor is Covid. When my mom was diagnosed with ALS 3 months ago, the neurologist asked her if she’d had Covid. Very interesting that this would even be a question. Also, could it be possible side effects from Covid or even the vaccine? This is why I believe ALS is on the rise.

Yes, I absolutely believe that ALS is on the rise… i also believe MS, Lupus, and Myositis are on the rise d/t autoimmune responses within the body and potentially caused by our environment.

    — From National Institutes of Health (NIH): “Abstract. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease affecting particularly motor neurons for which no cure or effective treatment is available. Although the cause of ALS remains unknown, accumulative evidence suggests an autoimmune mechanism of pathogenesis.”
